It’s also cheese pizza day (during Lent), but that’s neither here nor there.
- In the the-more-things-change-the-more-they-stay-the-same category, we have a look at some images from the early days of the woman’s suffrage movement. The anti-suffrage cartoons at the end of the slide show are quite interesting; it’s good (well, not good, but you know) to know that people have been using the same insults to attack feminists for a hundred years. Because all feminists are angry, ugly, man-hating virgins, y’know.
- In the double standards category, we have a Catholic high school that required its female students, but not its male students, to swear not to use profanity. As if there isn’t enough malarkey going on with the Church right now, what with the departure of the pope and all, you guys had to go and do this. Good job. The reason I’m sharing this is because I love the manifesto of sorts at the end of the post (last paragraph of page 1 and first paragraph of page 2).
- As a chaser, we have pictures of animals with their Mini-Me’s. Too cute by half. The Internet can be a pretty messed-up place, but it’s love for cute animal pictures balances things out a bit.
Huh, I didn’t intend to have a theme this week, and certainly not a heavy theme, but here we are.
