You guys are so lucky. I was in a TERRIBLE mood and I went to YouTube so I could link to the really, insanely terrible 90s one-hit-wonder that was in my head (if I was suffering, you were gonna suffer, too). But then something kinda rad caught my eye on the YouTube homepage and it’s been all uphill from there. Seriously, you guys are so lucky.
- What caught my eye? CollegeHumor made a trailer for a live-action Daria movie with Aubrey Plaza. A Daria movie would (hopefully) be awesome. They’d need to cast a hotter guy as Trent, but who better than (my fellow Wilmington, DE native) Aubrey Plaza to play Daria? (Fun fact: Aubrey Plaza attended my mom’s alma mater.)
- I’m still on a “Blurred Lines” kick and this version Robin Thicke did with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots is fantastic. (Fun fact: I’m pretty sure I had that little keyboard from the beginning of the video when I was a kid.)
- And the song currently in my head is “Cough Cough” by Everything Everything. (Fun fact: I can’t remember which AltNation DJ described the song as “kind of a hot mess,” but I kind of agree. And I love it.)
- Finally, good God the guys in The Neighbourhood are young. Look at how young they look! You know you’re old when the bands, actors, and professional athletes you like are younger than you. (Fun fact: I really love their black and white aesthetic.)
I started out cranky but YouTube made everything better. Thanks, YouTube.
