If my Twitter timeline is any indication, I am the only person in the United States not watching the Oscars. I saw very few nominated movies this year and it’s hard for me to care about the Oscars in general if there isn’t at least one nominee I’m emotionally invested in. Also, I couldn’t care less about Seth MacFarlane.
Apparently I missed amazing performances from Shirley Bassey and Adele, though. But I’m pretty sure they’ll be on th’ interwebz in the not too distant future. (Side note: I love that Bassey did “Goldfinger,” it’s my favorite Bond theme. Possibly also my favorite Bond movie.)
The strangest thing in my timeline was the Anne Hathaway hatred. What is that about? When did Anne Hathaway become Zooey Deschanel? I love Anne Hathaway (and Zooey Deschanel). I really don’t understand it. Also, as far as I could tell, people were hating on her for having emotions. And yet those same people were hating on Kristen Stewart for not having any emotions. You can’t have it both ways, snarky Internet people.
And with that I should really go to sleep.
You guys, there will be new Justin Timberlake music in 2013. I really cannot tell you how excited I am about that. But reading this post might give you some idea.
The best part is that I’d had no idea that JT was even working on new music. Then this morning I saw a rumor that there would be new JT in our lives within the next few days. It seemed too good to be true, though, so I didn’t want to believe it. But then one of my Facebook friends posted the above link and I was all *Kermit flail*
In other news, I have seen none of the nominees for the Best Picture Oscar. None. This makes me sad. I am, however, dying to see Silver Linings Playbook (and not just because I’ve had a thing for Bradley Cooper since Alias – although it helps :)). I would also like to see Argo, Lincoln, and Les Misérables. But I would settle for seeing Silver Linings Playbook. I mean, I have to do something to fill the three days until JT’s countdown ends.
Apparently ABC Family decided to combat the Oscars by playing movies that I know by heart (and very nearly line for line): Aladdin and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The weird thing is that just having the movies on is making me sleepy. Which really sucks because it means I’m still not going to write the post about my favorite author.
Part of me really just wants to go to be right now (10:37 PM), but I have some homework to do. Blech. This is what happens when I put off doing my homework.
At least I’m not remotely tempted to watch the Oscars. According to Twitter I’m not missing anything. Well, I missed Christian Bale presenting an award (in his actual voice, no less), and that’s a bummer. But that’s it.
