The alarm I set for this morning was much later than the alarm I set for yesterday morning. (This is an obvious perk of unemployment.) But two very strange things happened: I woke up long before the alarm went off (I don’t know how long because I tried to force myself to go back to sleep without checking a clock) and the second the alarm did go off I wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep. I think that says everything you need to know about my relationship with alarm clocks.
